GapYear encourages the volunteers, during their experience to adopt a proactive approach:
through constant interaction and collaboration with the local staffbearing in mind the skills and knowledge of the volunteersoffering the volunteers the possibility, to promote their own particular Initiative, within the objectives of the single projects, advising them to prepare selected activitiesbefore the departuretrying to create the best possible conditions, to make the volunteer feel at ease in a new environmentkindly inviting the volunteers to continue their work back at home through fundraising activities and the circulation of acquired knowledge on the partner organizations and the sponsored projectsThe protection and security of the volunteer is one of our priorities. The participating volunteers will always be assisted by local staff, and incase of emergency and will always have at their disposal a secure means of transport.
