GapYear works in partnership with organizations deeply rooted in the local environment, run locally, and which respond to the needs of the community.GapYear sends volunteers who contribute to the achievement of the objectives established by the local organizations and maintains a constant link to ensure that the volunteers have a positive and significant impact on the project.
GapYear points the volunteers to one particular project rather than another, according to the needs of the partners and on the basis of their abilities and personal characteristics.. The time availability of the volunteer will be kept in mind to guide him or her in the choice of the destination.
This ensures that the volunteer will participate in a project suited to him/her and that the partner will benefit from the effort undertaken.
This way of working allows both the volunteers of Gap Year and the partners to operate effectively side by side. The local work is the result of the cooperation process between the volunteers and the local staff and the organization expresses appreciation for the energy and contribute brought by single volunteers to the project.
